Jumping into January!

Yoga & Mindfulness, Chinese New Year dragons, planting Tulip bulbs and weaving St. Bridget’s Crosses – just some of what 3rd and 4th Class have been up this January!

First and second class welcomed the Chinese Lunar New Year with their colourful Chinese Dragons and city scape 3D paper fireworks. They have also been getting to grips with hockey and yoga poses plus lots of literacy fun in our stations and experimenting with dry ice!

Our infants have had a very busy month! They had lots of new year celebrations and made some winter mittens. Hockey was great fun and so was planting spring bulbs. Their ‘At the Cinema’ Aistear theme was a great hit and included making rice-crispy treats and enjoying some yummy popcorn with a movie!

5th and 6th Class produced some wonderful art depicting the Magi, visited Sacred Heart Church, Rath, for the feast of the Epiphany and took part in the special tradition of chalking the door. They enjoyed some dry ice experiments with Ms Kearney and and made St Brigid’s crosses and prayers which we took to mass for our fellow parishioners. Catholic schools week was great at the end of the month and they were particularly thinking of their grand parents!
