The Active School Flag is awarded to schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. The process aims to get more schools, more active, more often. Rath NS has been involved in this process since 2009 and has continued to develop and become engrained in the everyday running of our school. Active Week has become a highlight of every school year, as have our various lunchtime leagues. The children and teachers have sampled many wonderful types of sport and activity including golf, orienteering, tug of war, zumba, kickboxing, relays, walking, aerobics, GAA, soccer, basketball, circus skills, to name but a few!
Our Active flag is spearheaded by Ms. Griffiths & Ms. McCarthy and our wonderful pupils’ committee who always have fantastic suggestions on how we can become more active in Rath NS!
