Green Flag

Green-Schools is Ireland’s leading environmental management and education programme for schools.

Promoting long-term, whole-school action for the environment, Green-Schools is a student-led programme with involvement from the wider community. The programme is operated and co-ordinated by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce. Rath NS have been involved in the programme since 2010 and have been awarded flags for the following themes:

  1. Litter & Waste
  2. Energy – reducing consumption
  3. Water Conservation

We are currently in our second year of working towards our Biodiversity flag. Mrs. Harrington & Ms. O’ Sullivan lead the way, working with a diligent team of pupils from all classes from 1st – 6th.
