We weren’t sure if school tours could go ahead this year or not and when guidance came from the Department of Education, it advised for outdoors, local and reduce use of public transport! So we got our thinking hats on to see what we could do. Luckily we’re blessed with many great options in West Cork and we got a thumbs up all around for great days out!
The Junior tour started in Baltimore playground where parents dropped off their children. We headed from there by boat up the Ilen river on a pirate adventure to Inishbeg gardens. We followed a pirate trail, played pirate games and even found a treasure chest of icecreams at the end. Everyone was collected there by their parents and had a fantastic day out as the photos show!

The Senior tour took us half an hour over the road to Rosscarbery! Remaining in their class bubbles, we hired two buses and booked both the Lagoon inflatable water park and the new tubing park at Smugglers Cove. So while 5th & 6th were tubing, 3rd & 4th were at the Lagoon and then we swapped over. Because of our numbers, we could book them out entirely, minimising risk as much as possible. The children had a ball and with time for a lovely picnic as well, everyone went home tired, but very happy!
