Congratulations to our first holy communicants who received their sacrament yesterday after a long wait. Fr. Michael conducted an intimate, simplistic ceremony, with all children participating in readings. Helen & Hannah provided some wonderful music to add to this special mass. David Sheehy also videoed it for us so we can share it with those not present. The weather couldn’t have been better which was a bonus as we had arranged a surprise guard of honour for outside afterwards for all those special people who couldn’t be at the mass. The children in turn then surprised us with a lovely rendition of “His Banner over Me”. They did a fantastic job! A huge thank you to Mrs Harrington, Ms Griffiths & Ms O’Sullivan for all their hard work and preparation during these unprecedented times. Both Mrs Harrington & Ms Griffiths gave up some of their time off from their job share to ensure the ceremony went ahead smoothly and safely. All their hard work certainly paid off. Thanks also to Fr. Michael for such a meaningful ceremony, his genuine interest in the children and for making the best of a situation, always with a smile on his face!
