5th & 6th class created some wonderful papier mache volcanoes over the past weeks, following the study of the structure of the Earth and how volcanoes are formed in Geography. They also studied chemical reactions in Science and today used the everyday household chemicals of bicarbonate of soda and vinegar to erupt them. The wind outside quickly counteracted the smell and we tested the reaction rate by adding various amounts of reactants and reagents.
We are also studying why leaves change colour in autumn and have an experiment set up for same. We look forward to recording our results tomorrow!
