West Cork Railway Studies

Rang a Cúig & a Sé really enjoyed their studies on the West Cork railways which had a terminus in Baltimore village. Many of our older generation neighbours and grandparents provided us with invaluable information along with our studies of books and old photographs. We also did a local field study, examining our landscape for signs of railway bridges, cottages and pathways. The highlight was a visit to Creagh old railway station. Thanks to Dan McCarthy, we got to walk on the old railway tracks, stand inside the station and examine old photographs and information. It really brought this local history to life for us!
