Following a very informative presentation from Kay Quinn and Nicolas MacGillacuddy, 3rd to 6th classes studied Fair trade around the world, what it means to suppliers and what we can do to help to ensure that those doing the work get a fair price. From footballs, to chocolate, cotton to coffee, we studied it all!
On Friday, we hosted a fair trade “coffee” morning for all pupils to highlight the products available in our local supermarket. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, banana bread, bananas & sweets were all served by 5th & 6th. We also taught the younger classes about what we learned on Fair trade and it’s great to hear that many are looking out for the symbol since while shopping. Keep up the good work, every little change we make can help others!
