Rath boys came out on top in the FAI 5 a side small schools competition. Having come through the West Cork round in Bantry, they faced off some tough competition in Musgrave Park. Topping their group, they faced a tough Ballintotis in the quarter finals, followed by Kilmeen in the semi final. Another west Cork team, Ardfield we’re our opposition for the final and what a final it was. 0-0 after ordinary time, the boys played extra time, in which Ardfield were first to score. A cool headed Senan Whooley was awarded a penalty in the second half of extra time and scored, forcing the game to penalties. Three penalties were taken before sudden death and it took until the 8th penalty before Rath were crowned champions! Commiserations to the gallant Ardfield NS who proved to be such worthy opponents. We will now head to Cahir in May for the Munster finals.
Team included Tadhg Ronan, Senan Whooley, Kingsley Crosby, Ben Pitton Brady, Theo Best, Jesse Best, Fionn Daly and Paddy Sheehy (captain). Many thanks to past pupil Shane Hallihane and John Garrett for their help with training.

Rath NS wins the Munster Finals in Cahir!!!
