As always it’s been a busy start to the new academic year at Rath NS and it was great to have some lovely weather in September and October to enjoy all the activities in.
Our pupils have thrown themselves into a wide range of activities this term. They have been enjoying all areas of the curriculum whilst also celebrating lots of other special occasions such as Roald Dahl Day, Maths Week, SNA Appreciation Day and of course Halloween to name but a few. We were delighted to welcome back Martina French who teaches tin whistle and music appreciation to 1st to 6th Class. Our infant classes also explore music with Martina through the use of percussion instruments. Another firm favourite has been weekly football with John Sheehy from Ilen Rovers. It’s fantastic to see the children enjoying the game and their skills improving as the weeks go on. We’ve also had two great additions to our outside space which the children enjoy at breaktimes – a rebounder and an outdoor table tennis table. There have even been a few teachers spotted playing a bit of ping pong!
