There was a huge excitement in September when we were lucky enough to get a visit from some very special VIPs – three of our local rowing Olympic heroes, Fintan McCarthy, Emily Hegarty and Aoife Casey. All the staff and children dressed in our country colours especially for the occasion and welcomed them with a roar of “Olé, Olé, Olé…”! Fintan, Emily and Aoife couldn’t have been more obliging and patiently answered the many questions that were fired at them, posed for photos and signed autographs! Many thanks to them for giving up their time to come to Rath.
