What a wonderful day we had on Sunday celebrating the official opening of our new school extension and everything that is special about Rath NS! We were delighted to see so many pupils past & present, parents, grandparents, family and friends from our community. And we were also blessed with some lovely weather to see the new building and the rest of the school at it’s finest.
Everyone was welcomed to the opening by David Sheehy, Chairperson of the Board of Management and our Principal, Maura Collins. The very special job of cutting the ribbon for the official opening was preformed by former teachers Una Murphy and Michael John Collins. Christopher O’Sullivan TD was also in attendance for the ceremony.
Once all our guests entered the new extension under a rainbow balloon arch, they strolled through the building taking in all our great classrooms and were treated to some lovely refreshments provided by The Parents Association. It was fantastic to hear the buzz of school memories shared over a cuppa!
We are so lucky to have our beautiful school with fantastic staff and pupils in this wonderful corner of West Cork!
